About Dog Maps

Some people count birds. We count dogs.

Dog Maps started with a simple habit: noticing every dog on a walk. The corgi outside the coffee shop, the husky who's always at the park on Saturdays, the very serious bulldog on the bus. Dog Maps is a place to keep them.

How it works

When you see a dog, open the app and take its picture. You can't upload old photos from your camera roll - every dog on Dog Maps was seen in person, at the spot where it's pinned. A quick automated check makes sure there's really a dog in the shot (and guesses the breed, with mixed results). Then it goes on your map, with a short note if you like.

Over time your map fills up with every dog you've met. Follow friends to see their dogs too, or browse the shared map to find out which park has the most golden retrievers.

Built with care

Because every post has a location, privacy matters. You can make your account private so only approved followers see your dogs, block anyone, and report anything that shouldn't be there. A real person reviews every report within 24 hours.

Dog Maps is an independent app made in Denver, Colorado. It's free, has no ads, and doesn't sell your data. Read the Privacy Policy and Terms, or say hi at [email protected].
